Welcome
Welcome back to our colleague AnaMaria who was able to rejoin us on campus this week. We are happy she is healthy and back with her Blazer family.
We are excited to confirm we have 15 incoming students joining our Blazer family in January 2020 with the possibility of 2-5 more. Thank you for helping transition our newest members.
ASAs Start January 6th
Session Two ASAs start the first Wednesday we return from Winter Break. Please check the Session 2 ASA and HC Schedule in January so you know where to escort which students. If you need help using this document, please contact Gareth and he will show you how to create a list containing only your students. Over the break and throughout the first two weeks back, there will be changes to the schedule so please carefully review it each day. You may also receive questions from students and parents as they settle into the new routine. If so, please direct them to Gareth.
If you are running an ASA this session, please review the facilitator's guide outlining the roles and responsibilities of an ASA Facilitator.
~from Violetta and Bernadett (ES Book Room Coordinators)
In January, we will begin the process of clearing out some of our older and less loved books from the book room to make room for updates. As your book room coordinators, we will be visiting your teams on the Jan. 5 PD day to better understand which books you love and which books need to go. Together we will coordinate the clearing and we will be asking for support in the new year! 2021 will bring great things to our book rooms!
~from the DTL
On our first day back from the winter break, we will have the opportunity to ease back into school life in the best possible way - through learning! You may choose from a variety of the following options to kick start 2021:
- Join your colleagues in a lively conversation about the renewed MVV
- Learn about inquiry and literacy in the Early Years from our very favorite superstar, Kath Murdoch (recorded webinar with one day access only!)
- Consider how you might bring the Learning Identities to life no matter the mode (onsite, hybrid, distance) with Anne Van Dam (live zoom session)
- Tap into the expertise of an old friend, Paul Andersen, to dig deeper into cross-cutting concepts (live zoom session)
- Enjoy some physical and mental well-being opportunities with your colleagues
- Spend time reconnecting with your team and planning for an AMAZING 2021!
