~From the Director
The results from the School Climate Surveys have been tabulated and, as the next step, I would like to share them with you. You are invited to the presentation of the results that will take place on Tuesday, May 31 at 7:45 am in the Multipurpose Room.
~Jo Boaler TEDxStanford
I encourage all of you to watch this timely released TEDx below. The entire talk is well worth the 13 minutes. It reconfirms why we are teaching math the way we do. Of particular interest, is minute 7:20 through minute 9 where it talks about the role of using fingers. I encourage you to share it with your parents via your weekly newsletters as well. Enjoy.
Professional Inquiry Cycle
Please see the May Curriculum Update (in the sidebar of the Mindset) for further information regarding the Professional Inquiry Cycle. In the next few days, you will receive a survey asking whether you would like to move in this direction or not. Taking time to read the common questions/answers will help you to make a more informed decision.
Literacy Assessment Survey
Since we are all in the thick of Literacy assessments right now, it is a good time for us to reflect on our structure. Please take 1 minute to answer this 3 question survey regarding Literacy assessments to inform our plans for next year.

Veracross is now open. Please work with your teams to enter your Overviews. You may begin to enter comments and indicators for Units of Study that are complete.
Please review the Report Writing Guidelines for timelines, process and procedure. Please have a colleague review your comments and confirm with the office as you complete your reports, so that we can begin the final review. If a student is missing, from your list, please let Erika know as soon as possible.
Please remember: The student name used in the report must be the name as it appears on your class list (and the report list) in Veracross. Please do not use any other form of the student name.
If you have any questions or require clarification, please see Krista or Stacy.
