Faculty Conversations
Thank you for completing the survey regarding food at faculty conversations. The results are below.
Faculty who are not comfortable with this environment will meet in the library at 3:45 pm. Diane will meet you there and ZOOM you into the Need to Know' segment of the conversation. Once this session is completed, those of us in the MPR will clean up and replace our masks as those in the library head down to join us for the rest of the conversation. We hope this meets the needs of all voices.
As per Brett's email earlier today, moving forward, we can only accept food from prepackaged or licensed food outlets. We can not purchase food from unlicensed services or bring baked goods from home to share with children in the classroom. Please ensure parents understand, moving forward, if they wish to celebrate their child's birthday at school, we can only accept prepackaged food or items from a licensed food outlet. If parents send in items that cannot clearly be identified as coming from a licensed food source, you will not be able to serve it and will need to send it home with the child.
Parents can also contact Geri at [email protected] if they are interested in using their services. Geri will need advance notice.
Budget 2020-2021
Yes, it is hard to believe. It is that time of year again. The budget season begins with small value and CAPEX purchases. Small value purchases are building and furniture requests that cost up to $500.00 per item and require approval from facilities and the business office. For example, this may include but is not limited to curtains, chairs, desks, tables, whiteboards, bookshelves, and cupboards. CAPEX purchases last a minimum of 1 year and cost more than $500.00 per unit. It includes building reconfiguration.
The following information is required for any small value or CAPEX items:
- A detailed description of the item/renovation requested (measurements, color, purpose)
- Information on where it can be purchased and delivery method
- Estimated cost for the purchase
Instructional Leads should present requests to Krista no later than Thursday, November 12th, at 4:00 pm. If you have further questions, please ask your Instructional Lead to bring them to the IL Conversation next Tuesday, November 3rd.
Additional Professional Day on November 30th
An additional Professional Learning Day has been scheduled for Monday, November 30th. On this day, students will practice learning from home. We will send home iPads, power chords, and headphones in the designated backpacks and implement our new distance learning schedules. Students will be provided with asynchronous videos for all the subjects scheduled on Mondays plus a Morning Zoom, Small Group ZOOM, and Office Hours/ EAL/LS ZOOM. Asynchronous videos should be prepared in advance and align with the current learning. Zoom sessions will happen synchronously on November 30th. Further information about the rest of the PD Schedule will be shared in the coming weeks.
Over the next four weeks, we encourage you to practice with your students to ensure they know how to access apps on their iPads, uploading assignments, and ZOOM expectations. Please contact Nate if there are some missing applications or headphones that are not working.
Nate will be following up to ensure all contracts have been returned and preparing contracts for students who have not yet received them.
If you have further questions, please ask your Instructional Lead to bring them to the IL Conversation next Tuesday, November 3rd.

Thanks to you, the ES collected 615,300 HUF during Walk the Wish Week, which together with the amount collected by the MS and the HS brings the grand total to 1,421,300 HUF. Last year AISB collected 1.4 million HUF, which means that this year, even though we were not walking together, we were together in the spirit of compassion and giving. In the name of the Csodalámpa Foundation and the severely ill children whose wishes we are sponsoring, I thank you for your enthusiasm and generosity. Please share this short thank you with your students.
~Beepingly yours, Kathy Cromartie
Hello!
We have updated our student book return process in hopes of more accountability. I wanted to let you know as we are running on steam at this point and all help is welcome. ? Books from home need to be scanned when they are returned. Do not drop them off on the cart without help scanning them in. We are putting them in a quarantine account. We have been trying this process now for over a week. Students seem to get it. This allows us to have a more accurate picture of what is out. We can then be sure folks that need reminders for returns are getting them. Thanks so much and let me know if you have questions. We will send families reminders next week for those with overdue books.
We are here to help but if we aren't here please leave them with a note for us to scan. Thank you.
