This week has brought a new flurry of activity to the campus as we prepare for the opening of our Early Childhood and grapple with grade 1 through 11 childcare. Please join me in saying a huge thank you to our Early Childhood team, and all faculty and staff who have been busy preparing for the EC opening on Tuesday, as well as those who will support the team in the coming weeks. I am confident, just as our transition to distance learning demonstrated, that we are a leader among international schools and our reopening of the EC will reinforce this again. This is a testament to you all. Thank you.

Please work with your teaching team to complete the summer jobs list for Assistant Teachers and record all tasks on this spreadsheet. For further information, please refer to slide 5 of this week's Faculty ZOOM regarding end of year closing. Your team's tab is located at the bottom of the spreadsheet. Teachers, please keep in mind the possible disruptions and social distancing requirements that could impact what Assistant Teachers can do during the week they are here after your departure for summer holidays. Please also remember all Assistant Teachers arrive one week earlier than you at the start of the new academic year. The deadline for filling in your section of the summer jobs sheet is June 15.

Zoom has been an essential tool during distance learning, not only at AISB but worldwide. Zoom became a household name overnight.
Due to the surge in users, Zoom has been revamping and updating its platform to best serve its new, expanding demographic. The recent update that Zoom pushed earlier in the week fixed some bugs and increased security and privacy measures.
One of the changes, however, has added an extra complication when attempting to "unmute" a participant. With the new update, participants must consent to be unmuted by the host. When the host attempts to unmute someone, the participant will receive a pop-up box on their end asking if they consent to be unmuted.
While this will not be a big issue for an older participant, this adds an extra step and complication for our young learners who must now be aware that the teachers no longer have the ability to unmute them.
