Report cards are now open on Veracross. All Subject overviews (core and encore) and Learning Identity comments are due for review no later than Thursday, December 14th (4:00 pm). Please refer to the Report Writing Guidelines (in the sidebar under Handbooks) when writing your reports and adhere to the timeline (p.6). All writers are requested to have a team member, instructional lead or colleague read the overview and Identity comments before posting in Veracross.
It is important to note when referring to a student by name you are to use their given name not their preferred name (i.e., the name used in class) and use accents as required. Comments are written in the present tense to support our growth mindset philosophy. Please remember to refer to the encore teacher document and include their feedback in your comment.
If you have questions or require clarification, please see Krista, Leigh, or Tracey. If you notice a student is missing from your class list, please let Erika know. Please email Erika as soon as you have inputted your overviews and identity comments so reviewers can begin the review process.

Just a reminder that elementary students are not to bring personal devices to school, as stated in the ES Parent & Student Handbook. Per the policy, 'any inappropriate items being used during the school day will be taken away and held in the office for the parent to pick up.' This includes electronic equipment such as (iPod, iPad, Game Consoles, etc.), cameras, Apple watches and mobile (cell) phones. Teachers do have discretion and can give permission to bring a personal device, as long as the device is needed to perform some school-related task that cannot be performed using existing school resources. Permission should be specific and should be given in advance of the device being brought in.
Please also remind students in grade 3-5 that this was part of the Responsible User Agreement, which they have all signed.
~from the Yearbook Team (Paul Corfield and Vlad Krpan)

The next 10 photos are due just before Spring Break on Wednesday, April 11th no later than 3:30 pm. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Vlad or Paul. Thank you!

The Cult of Pedagogy podcast is a collection of episodes focused on teaching and learning. There is something for everyone. Author, Jennifer Gonzalez , interviews teachers, parents, students and administrators about hot topics in education (MA-Grade 12). Each episode provides the listener with practical ideas, tools, and resources to reinforce, support and extend teaching and learning. Each week I will highlight one or two of Jennifer's Podcasts or resources. I hope you will find time to explore them yourself. If you do and come across one you believe others in our community might enjoy, send it my way and I will add the link here.
