We have come to the end of another incredible and busy school year here at AISB. I am so proud to be a part of this wonderful community. Working with children is the best job in the world and, on a daily basis, this is reinforced to me through all the amazing things I see happening in and around our school.
Life in our AISB family is always busy. You and our students are always inspiring both inside the classroom and out. From ASAs, to Shakespeare, the mini rock concert, and readers theater, from fine arts events, to moving up ceremonies, and the Variety Show, from the opportunities you provide for our children to learn from our host country and from the great outdoors, and, let us not forget the upcoming Sports Fun Day and EC Fun Day. The list goes on and on. You continue to inspire and instill in our students a love of learning and memories that will last a life time.
Thank you for all you do to make coming to work such a pleasure. I wish each and every one of you a much deserved summer break.

The ES Sports Fun Day is tomorrow, Tuesday, June 14th. It will start at 11 a.m. and will go on until the end of the school day. This event is to celebrate the end of the year and the emphasis is on participation, cooperation, team play and fun. Please remind your students to come to school appropriately dressed; shorts, a T-shirt, a hat, and sports shoes. Please remind them about sunscreen and a water bottle. We will have a few water stations, so it is also a good idea for students to wear a swimsuit under their clothes and pack a small towel. A cold, packed lunch consisting of a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a granola bar and juice will be provided. Here is the link to everyone's assignment and a breakdown of the stations. Here is the link to the groups. Please also refer to the email sent by Zsuzsi on June 11. Please be sure to print yourself a copy and review it before the day begins. If you have any questions, please see Zsuzsi S. or Zsuzsi H. Thank you, in advance, for your support and for your cooperation.
Please join us for our annual Faculty End-of-Year Breakfast scheduled to take place this Wednesday, June 15 in the cafeteria beginning at 7:45 am.
This year, the grade 5 students will do the Bridge Walk on June 15 (the day of the assembly) not on June 16. We cordially invite all Grade 1-5 classes, teachers (encore and core), assistants, and administration to the 2015-2016 Bridge Walk Ceremony that will “kick off” the end-of-year ES assembly scheduled for Wednesday, June 15.
In past years, we have had a 5th grade Bridge Walk Ceremony during the last 10-15 minutes of the last day of school. This has hindered the ability of students and teachers (both in elementary and middle school) to say proper good-byes during the last minutes of the school year. Thus, we have made the decision to move the Bridge Walk Ceremony to June 15th.
The Bridge Walk Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 15th starting at 8:35 am. Below is a map outlining where classes should stand to cheer our fifth graders on. Classes are also invited to create and bring signs to hold up as our fifth graders pass by them. In these cases, we request classroom teachers and assistants to collect the signs from the students as they head into the theater, so they are not a distraction during the assembly.
We kindly request all classes are in positions by 8:35 am, so we can begin the walk at 8:40 am. It would be greatly appreciated if encore teachers could help to ensure classes and parents are situated (according to the map) and ready for the Bridge Walk to begin at 8:40 am.
Fifth grade will walk past each of the classes and parents. Once they are by your class, you can join behind them. 4T and 4L please give a meter or two of space between you and fifth grade. Grade 5 will be the first to enter the theater followed by 4T and 4L, then 4B and 4H, then 3R and 3K, and so on, with parents entering last.
At the end of the assembly, Krista will invite grade 5 to leave the theater first. All other classes are requested to remain seated until she invites the rest of you to leave. Thank you, all, in advance, for your support!
All leaving faculty, staff and students have been invited to a Farewell Pizza Luncheon this Wednesday, June 15. It will take place from 12:00-12:25 in the cafeteria. Ms. Ed will confirm students attending. Thank you for sending them down for 12:00.
'Faculty Check Out Forms' will be distributed today, Monday, June 13th. All faculty and staff are requested not to begin summer pack out (with the exception of student work that will be going home) until after students have left on Thursday. Faculty may receive final signatures from their divisional administration after 1:00 pm on Friday, June 17th.
