**Please check the Meeting Schedules (in the sidebar) for information regarding this week's meetings.
***Please join us this Friday morning for Caroling (Reception @ 8:00 am).
This Tuesday's meetings will be an opportunity to celebrate the success of the first half of the school year and share your progress on your professional inquiry cycle. Please join us, raise a glass, toast your colleagues, and celebrate our successes. Assistants are invited to join at the beginning but are not required to stay for the PIC portion of the meeting.
Leigh has printed everyone's Professional Inquiry Cycles. If you have updated yours in the last week, please confirm with Leigh no later than 4 pm Monday so she can print an updated version.
If you have not alrdeady, please complete the Goal Survey by 4 pm today. We will share our progress to date at Tuesday's meeting.
Extended Learning- December 7- January 24:
*Observe your students, observe yourself, observe a colleague.
*Record (for sharing) your observations about the languages of thinking, community, and identity, as well as questioning and the ways they support your learning and your students’ learning.
Prompts to consider (I.Q. Routine): I noticed, It supports student learning by..., It sends a message to the learner that..., I am wondering...
Below is an example student-friendly version of the Inquiry Cycle we were using at last week's Faculty Conversation. This is one that grade one uses. If you are interested in using it or taking it and adapting it for your grade level, here is the link for you to copy. Thank you for sharing grade 1!
~From the Yearbook Team (Vlad and Paul)
This year, we request you submit the first 10 (out of 20) of your class photos to the yearbook team by Thursday, December 15. The second set of 10 will be due Thursday, April 13.
When choosing your first 10 photos, please:
- Create a folder / album on your desktop. We will come around December 15 (or earlier if you email Paul ([email protected]) to collect the pictures from you.
- Keep the folder / album so you can refer back to see which students are in the photos you submited. It is important that all students are represented at least once.
- Submit only original photos. Do not take screenshots of photos in the Parent Update or on your class website. Screenshots are low resolution and are often duplicate photos of what we already have as we took the original photo.
- Choose photos of groups of students, not whole class photos. We recommend photos with 2-4 students. The photos should be taken as close as possible, yet still allow the viewer to see what the students are doing.
This week we say farewell to Catlin and Matt. Catlin has been an great addition to our team and has done an excellent job transitioning to Budapest, AISB, and grade 1. We are sad her maternity cover has come to an end but are relieved to know she remains a part of our community. We wish her and Adam all the best as they prepare to welcome the fourth member of their family in February 2017. We look forward to meeting their little miracle after she arrives.
Matt takes on the role of Chief Advisor to the Chancellor of the University of Óbuda. He will be overlooking, managing and improving all aspects of the universities operation. Matt has been an amazing member of our team. Over the past four years, he has developed an exemplary ASA program of which we are all so very proud.
